TANI SINGS
Professional vocalist Tani Waipa blends Hawaiian roots with jazz, showcasing her talents as a soloist, recording artist, and music instructor globally.
Tani Waipa is a professional vocalist and musician who blends the essence of her Hawaiian roots in church choir with her passion for jazz and other genres of music. Her clear, distinctive voice moves easily from a toned, trained structure to harmonious, smoky interludes.
Tani grew up in Hilo, Hawaiʻi with vocals and music as part of her daily life, from singing with her family at home in Keaukaha to performances with her father’s choirs. This rich collaborative background provided Tani a pathway as a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Hilo to broaden her musical experiences outside her island home. During her years in Los Angeles, she received additional musical and vocal training with professors at USC's Thornton School of Music along with significant mentors in the professional world of music.
As an entertainment entrepreneur, Tani weaves her musical background into the studio as a recording artist and radio talk show host along with being an event emcee and instructor of cultural enrichment and music. After twenty years of performance in jazz, Hawaiian and various other genres, Tani showcases her musical talents as a jazz soloist and with her Hawaiian trio both at home in Hawaiʻi and internationally.
